To meet these two amazing souls for lunch to share stories and gossip to our hearts content
To touch base with these two wacky best friends of mine for a much needed emotional outburst and hugs all around..

To squeeze in a breakfast session with my lovable Afaf...

Christmas Comes Early...

in Brunei!
Let's have a peek at what Nell was up to in the sleepy country of Brunes.

Bowling at the exclusive Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club,Jerudong.

Though I sucked at bowling, I tried my best to have goofy fun!

With my Singaporean-Indian-American and Filipino colleague

Followed by Dinner at Brunei's famed Empire Hotel & Country Club.

A Balinese Christmas Dinner and gift exchange session.

Complete with 'Mr.Klaus' bringing goodies in my laundry bag! ;)

One big happy Brunei Family!

Note: Some were gnomes (pointy caps), some were Santarinas and one was an elf!

Mittens for my Taps!

Struggling with the occasional problem of acquiring clean source of water in my apartment here in Brunei, I was frantically trying to find suitable water filter fixtures for my taps as the solution.
Being somewhat of a novice in this area, obviously due to having had the luxury of living under my parents' roof, where such problems were never taken seriously...well...up until now. :)
Basically, the many fittings required for the plumbing systems are pretty much alien to me.Which led to 'trial and error' on my part in buying and choosing the simple water filters.

The most simple one which I thought would fit my 'chubby' bathroom taps turned out otherwise. Apparently, it is only suitable for the standard taps. i.e like the one in my kitchen! hahaha.. (aper lar teruk sgt Kemahiran Hidup skills Nell nie ;p)

I was then looking for others and today, guess what? These are actually water filters! Aren't they the cutest?? I found them in the shops in Kuala Belait and thought I had to buy them for my taps! :)

The first time I used the sink, I can't stop giggling to myself. They resemble so much like baby mittens.

Awww....see...the simple pleasures in life..

Sue's the Hen!

Now, I should [learn to]be more diligent in staying true to my words.
So herewith, the second post that is far overdue (overdue is an understatement- BASI is more like it!).
Where do I begin? *Nell checks Sue's blog for guidance.Double check whether can post X rated pictures. hahaha*
As usual, pictorial narration seems to be the fastest and easiest means of getting my message[s] across.
(As if you havent noticed the pattern of my posts) ;p

Crime scene?- The Ascott Service Apartments,KL
Sue was made to parade the lobby and grounds of the apartment in sexy angel wings and magic wand!
We were all armed with our handmade cards, commercialized cards and gifts for the bride-to-be (unlike others, I didnt have the time to pen my wishes earlier as I only arrived in KL around midnight) - I had to wait patiently for the shops in KLCC to open to grab something special from the 'blue-box-with-the-white-ribbon-shop' for my dearest Sue!

I even managed to grab these delectable Wondermilk cuppies from my neighbourhood mall to contribute to the pot luck

Girlfriends aka angels posing with their gifts courtesy of the bride-to-be! Look at the feast on the table.

Next comes the games! Err...there was the innocent & harmless Charades among it. Others, errr..let's just not go there..:p Sue, looking a tad bit red as the drinks kick in. Seen here portraying the ever so graceful Geisha! haha..

Delighted with her pressies!
Among the 'safe' pictures to be posted in cyberspace! :p
My lovely Sue looks so cute in her party dress!!
OK I am going to stop here. :p

Gua Niah Trip

Today, I am paying my dues.So here goes:Us on the way to Gua Niah. It takes 1 hour ++ from Miri using a trunk road. Gua Niah is part of the Niah National Park At the visitor centre. Waiting for the boat ride to cross the river
Short-lived happiness. The boat ride is only 2 minutes!
There is a nice walkway provided as you trudge through the dense forest. The view and serenity is just unbelievable.
Do ensure you have comfortable shoes on for the 10km++ to and fro walk to the caves. This is one of the early caves we encountered. Note the green mossy floor..It's really nice.
There are a host of caves to explore, i.e. the Painted Cave, the Main Cave, etc

5th picture from bottom; be prepared to climb stairs, walk in sulphuric smelly caves and don't forget to bring a large torchlight with you and plenty of liquids!

2nd picture from bottom; Among the items found in Niah Caves; wooden coffin 'death ships'.

Comfort Food

I am typing this from the corners of my bed with a big bowl of mashed potatoes in hand (homemade nonetheless-errr...Nell is improving her cooking skills,ok?- 6.30pm is dinner time by Bruneian standards), a half-emptied bottle of sparkling juice and British Edition of Hello Magazines strewn all across the bed.
This act of hibernation is largely due to being home alone on a Friday night. The housemate is off to Miri to have a well-deserved escapade with her hubby who is visiting this weekend.
With no car at my disposal, it is best just to stay put in the house and kick-up my heels and enjoy some 'me' time.
Fuel for my brain this evening would be the latest gossips courtesy of those magazines blended nicely together with juice up until my tummy bloats.
With the recent emotional drainage, I think I deserve some quiet time and an early night cap.
So, please excuse me, I am going to check out what's happening in Brad and Angelina's household and not forgetting doing a thorough research on Madonna and Jesus' wedding plans.
Bye! Goodnight my darlings..
XOXO

Hurt Comes Knocking...

Sometimes you have to go through a series of feelings so unfathomable for reality to hit home.
The next time it comes knocking, you are supposed to spot the signs early on.
And by default, if by normal intuitive gut feeling, to also run helter skelter in the opposite direction to avoid the hurt again.
The bells are ringing loudly in my ears waking me up from any form of reverie I may have.
But yet, how come I am not learning? and how come I am still standing rooted to the ground?
Owh, let's just say I am out of the usual busy spell for today and hence decided to pen down thoughts which have been buried deep inside my head for a couple of days - too deep and severe are these thoughts that it resulted in a migraine last night. *Sigh*

In other words, I am embroiled in this state of confusion and at a juncture in my personal life that I MUST make a decision soon.
This is akin to life and death situation.
What if you have so much to love and give but yet you are wary of your standing which in turn deprieves you of the freedom to do so? And your heart is crying for some form of avenue or an outlet to express these feelings.
What if you thought that person might have changed, at least a puny progression from where you left? Perhaps, in the name of love. And later to discover that it is not the case. Would you still settle for less? Even if it means having to sucker up and push forth the 'macho-ness' in you. And bury the real, girly-side of you. The one that is an attention seeker and the 'manja' to the max person?
How simple can a relationship be? Does it mean having the other person but avoiding the complexities of a relationship? Does it still form a relationship? Or is it just a delusional and superficial take on it?Or rather, ignorance is bliss? An easy way out?
In the end, the important things in life are the little details and things,no?
p/s: You might have guessed the state of CONFUSION I am in with the amount of questions posed. Please Help!
